Why do Volcanoes erupt?
Objectives
Pupils will be able to
* state why a volcano erupts
* state the different stages of a volcano
* infer the benefits of living near a volcano
Activity 1 - Introduction (5-10 minutes)
How and why does a volcano erupts? The MTV below gives you some idea. Cick on the play button to find out. (be patient, it may take sometime to load).
Let's look at some clips of a volcano erupting! It may look amazing and beautiful but on the other hand, it can be very diasterous to those who are living around it.
Activity 2 - Find Out More (20 minutes)
Now, that you have seen the video clips, let's find out more about a volcano and what it is made of.

I still prefer the old method of copying and writing on the whiteboard because you tell more jokes. Can you please post some jokes on the blog regarding the topic every now and then? Anyway, the vidoes are so cool even though they take a long time to load. I like the first one the most! The second one really takes more time to load!

I LOVE IT!
We like the second video as it is more interesting and more 'realistic', although it took a longer time to load. The volcano does not look very 'scary' as in real life?.... We find that blog interesting and we hope you can make more interesting activities for us. When are you bringing us to the MAC lab? We hope it's tommorow! ^0^ Oh ya, Xena forgot to bring her English workbook! >_< HAHA!! ^_^
